It is always a very big show with pyrotechnics

enacted the story of Baeoh, the Nobility of the
Flying Tiger.
First up was the first ever XMA team

Team eXcel (Minnesota), and Team

GM watching    Sr. Master Jaeger     sparring                          board breaking

We had several Masters testing for higher rank.  This has to be done in front of Grand Master and the
Masters Council.  They have to perform their form, spar, and break boards, just like everyone else.
After the high rank testing, we had the Master's Ceremony.  This is the induction of the new
masters.  After attaining 6th degree, you can apply to be a master.  If your application is
accepted, you begin the new master preparation training.   This is a year long training that
ends on this stage.  After the ceremonial passing of the knowledge from Grand Master you
are presented the title of Master to begin the next step in the journey.  The level of the
master title is also distinguished in the color of the silk dobak you wear during this very
symbolic ceremony.  Master (6th degree) - white, Senior Master (7th degree) - blue, Chief
Master (8th degree) - red, and Grand Master (9th degree) - black.
Competition - Sat June 24 and Sun June
25
This begins the new tournament year.   Congratulations to our competitors from Champlin - we are very
proud of you!
New International Gate - very exciting!

The Gate & Garden Pavers Campaign offers the opportunity for everyone who believes in the life changing
principals of Songahm Taekwondo to forever leave their legacy while paying tribute to a man who meant so
much to so many – Eternal Grand Master H.U. Lee. Join us as we construct this monument to the man who
started it all and the masters, school owners and students who will carry the torch of learning for years to come.
ATA Headquarters
Lots of neat stuff here.  This is also a museum of ATA history.  They give tours during the week of
Worlds, but all are always welcome there.

Other Cool Sights in Little Rock
The Peabody hotel is attached to
the convention center.  The red

As we walked to the car
to leave Little Rock, I
noticed the license plates
in the parking lot.  People
come from all over the
US as well as Canda,
South America, and
South Africa.  Next year I
will start this project
before we are ready to
leave.
I took this on Tuesday.  Notice the
street banners.  Every morning on the
local news, there was a mention of the
ATA World Championships!
World Championships are an experience of a lifetime.  We invite
everyone to attend with us next year.  We hope you enjoyed seeing
some of the sights.  If you have any questions, just ask one of these
ATA Champlin Ambassadors!  Looking for more fun and learning next
year, KG
Walking in the lobby on
Saturday, we saw Chief Master
In Ho Lee visiting with an
orange belt tiny tiger.  She was
thrilled to have him sign her
trophies and take a picture.
